Good morning! 

Thank you for being obedient to our Lord and serving him and the residence of Northeast Correctional Complex on April 24-27.  This is one of several updates you will receive, and you will need to READ your emails on things pertaining to Kairos!

We are fast approaching our first training date March 15 at Pleasant View Methodist Church Abingdon, Va. 9am-1pm. Please note the following as it applies to you:

— Start asking and searching for help with your 80 dozen cookies to bring into NECX in April.  More on this 3/15. See attached

— Start working on your letters/cards for the 42 residences God is providing.  These are HANDWRITTEN only on any kind of small cards or stationery that you can seal up after we receive the names of the participants April 24. Leave the top open enough to put the name of each resident at that time and do NOT seal up yet.  These are words of encouragement, bible verses, or whatever you wish to share with each residence on the weekend. More on this 3/15. See Attached

— Start preparing your churches, family, friends, etc. to help you with your team fees. $200 dollars for the weekend goes toward the expense of the Kairos inside the prison. Another $50 dollars for the Usage of Camp Placid training weekend March 28-30.  This will cover our camp usage fee and the meals. Total fees = $250.00

—NEW VOLUNTEERS—

You will need to go online to the Tennessee Department of Correction website ASAP!

Lastly, I humbly ask you if you have not been praying for this weekend April 24-27 to begin doing so tonight.  God is already at work in this dark place bringing the light of Jesus Christ to these residences and I pray we can be the tools he uses. Pray for obedience for us to be the hands and feet Jesus asks of us. Humble servants of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

If it poses a threat to satan he will oppose it!   Pray James 4:7 over this compound.

Thank you for agreeing to serve on NECX Kairos 45. As was discussed at the meeting, you have some prep work before the weekend:

1. You need to prepare 42 notes to be delivered to the residents. Pray over these, and the Lord will direct your hand to put the correct words down. Since we don’t have the names yet, just leave the greeting (i.e. the “Dear…….” part at the beginning) as just “Dear”. Be encouraging. Thank them for coming to the weekend. Put in a plug for Tuesday night Prayer and Share and for Bible fellowship at NECX. YOU REALLY WANT TO HAVE THESE DONE BEFORE THE WEEKEND. If you work on them now, it’s just 1 or 2 a day. If you wait…..
2. Be working on your prayer support. We display a prayer chain (remember paper chains in elementary school?), and the more links the bigger impact on the residents. I have strips cut, or you can make your own. Staple the links, and put them in a trash bag. LEAVE THE 2 ENDS HANGING OUT SO WE CAN LINK ALL THE CONTRIBUTIONS TOGETHER. People can sign their name (first name only), where they are, and a favorite Bible reference or a word of encouragement.
3. Prayer support part 2: Everyone who was at the meeting should have received your assigned spots in the prayer vigil. If you didn’t or you weren’t able to make the meeting, please let me know and I’ll get those to you. If you know someone in Europe, try to get them involved. That helps us cover the over night slots, and makes a bigger impact when the residents hear that someone on the other side of the world is praying for them. As you get your slots filled, please let me know.
4. Cookies: Every team member is responsible for providing 80 dozen cookies. Instruction template is attached (Be sure to update the information highlighted in red on the last page). Consider asking your youth group to help out. Or anyone else. 
5. Placemats: Get your youth or children’s fellowship working on this. Color their favorite Jesus story or just a pretty picture on a piece of paper. We have some sheets that you can use, or just free-form it. The resident’s love to see a child’s name and age (JUST FIRST NAME).
